The Cost Advantages of Building with a Crawlspace Foundation

In this segment from WBTV’s 5 p.m. newscast in Charlotte, North Carolinath, APA Raised Floor Project Manager Bob Clark discusses how a crawlspace with a wood floor system can reduce the cost of construction. “Building a crawlspace with a wood floor system is much lower cost and a quicker method of building raised,” says Clark, standing within a crawlspace. “If this home were an elevated slab, all of this area we’re standing under would be filled with costly dirt. A wood floor is made from common building materials – available from any lumber yard – and makes sense for homes in all price ranges.” Ease of maintenance and energy savings are also discussed.
