ANSI/APA PRP-210: Standard for Performance Rated Engineered Wood Panel Siding
ANSI/APA PRP-210 covers the manufacturing, qualification, quality assurance, design and installation requirements for engineered wood siding products. There are no other American National Standards covering these products. Key stakeholders include structural panel manufacturers, distributors, designers, users, building code regulators and government agencies. ANSI/APA PRP-210 is based on APA’s PRP-108 Performance Standards and Policies for Structural-Use Panels.
ANSI/APA PRP-210 Update
ANSI/APA PRP-210 was developed by APA under the consensus process of the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) and was approved for publication by ANSI in December 2008. The standard was approved for acceptance into the 2012 International Codes by the International Code Council (ICC) Committees at the 2009 Code Development Hearings, which took place on October 24 through November 11, 2009 in Baltimore, MD. The results of the hearings are now subject to to public comments before the final actions are taken by the ICC governmental members at the Final Action Hearings on May 14 through 23, 2010 in Dallas, TX for the International Building Code (IBC), and on October 28 through November 1, 2010 in Charlotte, NC for the International Residential Code (IRC) and International Energy Conservation Code (IECC).
APA PRP-210 Standards Committee Membership
APA serves as the secretariat of the Standards Committee that began developing PRP-210 in December 2007. Committee membership includes 18 voting members, balanced in accordance with the operating procedures for development of APA consensus standards. ANSI/APA PRP-210 Approved
The new American National Standard for engineered wood panel siding was approved for publication by ANSI in December 2008. The standard was then approved for acceptance into the 2012 International Codes by the International Code Council (ICC) Committees at the 2009 Code Development Hearings in October 2009.
