APA in the News

APA staff members have made significant contributions to a variety of publications and websites on engineered wood research, education and product promotion. Here are some of the recent contributions by APA staff, as well as references to APA in the media:

2013

APA's Bryan Readling authored "Wind-Resistant Framing Techniques - Cost-effective Details to Help Houses Weather the Storm" in the September 2013 Fine Homebuilding.

"Special Focus: APA on Engineered Wood", an 11-page special section featuring multiple articles authored by APA, is featured in the July 2013 Building Products Digest. The section also appears in The Merchant Magazine.

"Dr. Borjen Yeh Receives ASTM International Award of Merit from Wood Committee" was a news release by ASTM International in June 2013. 

APA's new mobile-friendly Builder Tips were featured in several magazines and e-news publications in Spring-Summer 2013, including Remodeling and LBM Journal, as well as the newsletters of the HBA of Greater New Orleans and the Southern Building Material Association.

The 2012 APA Safety and Health Awards were covered in Engineered Wood magazine in May 2013.

APA's 2013 Market Outlook was covered by multiple sources in Spring 2013, including the Woodworking Network, LBM Journal, and Engineered Wood magazine.

Advanced framing was discussed in "If Labor Shortages Persist, Will Builders Seek Construction Alternatives?", posted to Builder in February 2013. APA's Bryan Readling is quoted in the article.

"8 Eye-popping Wood Building Projects", an article on the winners of the 2013 National Wood Design Awards including LeMay -- America's Car Museum (an APA Case Study), appears in the February 2013 Building Design & Construction.

"APA to Oversee Glulam Standards" was featured on Home Channel News in January 2013. The story was also mentioned in an edition of the ProSales Business Update
