Wall bracing, Rim Board topics of updated publications

APA has issued revised editions of two publications. Both are available as free PDF downloads or hard-copy purchase.

  • Technical Note - Narrow Wall Bracing Without Hold Downs for Use in a Fully Sheathed House, Form E425. Construction details of APA's Narrow Wall Bracing Method for 6:1 aspect-ratio wall segments on raised wood floors. The tested design requires no hold downs to perform equivalent to current 4:1 aspect ration bracing requirements of the 2003 IRC.
  • APA Standard - PRR-401® Performance Standard for APA EWS Rim Boards, Form X310. Dimensions and tolerances, performance requirements, test methods and qualification policy for APA Performance Rated Rim Boards®.
