Centennial Project Sponsors

The Plywood Industry Centennial Project is a joint effort of APA - The Engineered Wood Association and Plywood Pioneers Association, with the financial support of numerous plywood industry manufacturers and industry suppliers, as listed below.

APA is a nonprofit trade association of U.S. and Canadian plywood, oriented strand board, glulam timber, wood I-joist, laminated veneer lumber, and other engineered wood product manufacturers. The Association was founded in 1933 as the Douglas Fir Plywood Association and has operated from headquarters in Tacoma, Wash. ever since. Its primary functions are quality auditing and testing, applied research, and market support and development. For more information, visit www.apawood.org.

The Plywood Pioneers Association (PPA) is a nonprofit association of active and retired employees of the softwood plywood industry. The organization was founded in 1964 to foster bonds of friendship and fraternalism among members of the industry. PPA publishes historical monographs on early plywood mills and other industry companies, donates funds to the scholarship program of a university selected annually, and undertakes other educational activities in support of the industry. For more information, contact the Association at 253-620-7231 or pioneers@apawood.org.
