Welcome to the Plywood Pioneers Association Site

Plywood Pioneers logoThe Plywood Pioneers Association (PPA) is a nonprofit association of active and retired employees of the softwood plywood industry. The organization was founded in 1964 to foster bonds of friendship and fraternalism among members of the industry. PPA publishes historical monographs, donates funds to university scholarship programs, and undertakes other educational activities in support of the industry.

One such activity was recognizing 100 years of plywood with a centennial celebration in 2005. Information on the Plywood Centennial can be found by clicking on the "Centennial Photos and Highlights" link at left. Media-specific information about the event is also available in the "Media Information" section.

For more information on other activities, choose the "Upcoming Events" link at left, or discover how to join PPA by clicking on the "Plywood Pioneers Membership" link.

To learn more about the history of the original engineered wood product, click on the "Plywood History Milestones" link at left. The PPA's complete set of historical monographs on early plywood mills and other industry companies can be found online in PDF format or ordered in hard copy by clicking on the "Monographs" link. Finally, The Plywood Age book and Plywood Centennial DVD can be ordered by clicking on the photo at left.
