Plywood Pioneers Association Membership

The PPA was formed in 1964 at the suggestion of then American Plywood Association Executive Vice President James R. Turnbull, with the primary goal of cementing and fostering "the bonds of friendship and fraternalism" among the industry.

According to the Association by-laws, "Every person who (1) has for more than 20 years been employed in the industry or (2) has for more than 20 years been employed by the Douglas Fir Plywood Association, American Plywood Association, or any successor, shall be eligible to become a regular member upon recommendation of the Membership Committee. Additionally, the Membership Committee may recommend for membership other individuals who in the Committee's judgment have made positive contributions to the industry." Candidates for membership include those with careers in production, sales, equipment and adhesives supply, and research and development.

Annual membership fees for PPA are $15 and include a subscription to the Engineered Wood Journal and other special communications via regular mail and the APA Management Report via e-mail.
