Resolute Engineered Wood won its award in the category for companies with three or fewer mills. The company posted a 0.00 WIR for 2021. West Fraser earned top honors among companies with four or more mills, with a 2021 average Weighted Incident Rate (WIR) of 6.62.
The Athabasca, Alberta, Tolko Industries Ltd. mill's "The Pink Panther" equipment innovation and the Armstrong, British Columbia, Tolko Industries Ltd. mill's "Area Based Lockout Matrix Program" process innovation took top honors in the Innovation in Safety Award entries.
