  • Vice President of the Technical Services Division
    APA is pleased to announce our engagement with PRM Consulting Group to lead the retained search for the Vice President of the Technical Services Division due to the upcoming retirement of the incumbent. This pivotal role, reporting directly to the President, involves spearheading the technical wood engineering leadership within the association. Key responsibilities include overseeing workplace/laboratory safety, codes and regulatory activities, standards development, product evaluation and certification, and more.
    The ideal candidate brings to the table an advanced degree in civil or structural engineering, coupled with over 15 years of hands-on experience in wood products, timber engineering, or construction. Significant expertise in wood product testing, building codes, and standards development is a must, with a preference for familiarity with ISO 17020, 17025, and 17065. A P.E. license is preferred.
    The expected range is $225,000 to $230,000 plus, relocation support (if needed) and benefits. When determining wage, experience, education and other job-related factors are taken into consideration.   • Director of Building Codes and Standards

    APA is pleased to announce our engagement with PRM Consulting Group to lead the retained search for a newly created position of Director, Building Codes and Standards.
    This pivotal role is an individual technical contributor responsible for the association’s work in advancing building codes and the development of manufacturing and performance standards for APA members’ products. This includes performing engineering advisory services for the public, member manufacturers and APA staff, and requires technical knowledge of the development and implementation of national and state building codes and standards. A broad and deep professional network and history of collaboration with partners and standards setting organizations for the built environment is an essential accountability for this position.
    The ideal candidate brings a bachelor’s degree in structural or mechanical engineering, wood science or related field and ten+ years of professional industry experience in wood products, timber engineering or construction. Extensive knowledge of wood product or assembly testing, building codes and standards development is required, including deep expertise in the ICC code development process. A related advanced degree, professional engineer license or experience with ISO 17020, 17025 and 17065 are preferred, but not required. Frequent travel within North America for meetings and events is required.
    This is a newly designed position so we are hopeful the market will help us finalize compensation; however, the expected range is $140,000 - $160,000, plus benefits.
