June 2017—As an American National Standards developer accredited by American National Standards Institute (ANSI), APA is activating APA Standards Committees for the revision of ANSI 405-2013, Standard for Adhesives for Use in Structural Glued Laminated Timber. ANSI 405-2013 is referenced in ANSI A190.1-2017, which is directly recognized by the International Building Code (IBC) and International Residential Code (IRC) in the U.S. The APA standards committees are operated under the consensus process approved by ANSI, which requires transparent, openness, and balanced interest. The committee membership is open to all interested parties under the categories of manufacturer, supplier, user, and general interest. Those interested in joining the APA standards committee should contact BJ Yeh by July 31, 2017.
