Becoming an APA Member Manufacturer

Follow a clear, step-by-step path to determine eligibility, apply, and achieve—and maintain—APA certification, strengthening your credibility and recognition in the marketplace.

Who Qualifies for APA Membership?

APA membership is open to manufacturers of engineered wood products that meet established requirements for certification, quality, and structural performance.

  1. Product Eligibility – Facilities must manufacture engineered wood products primarily intended for structural applications following North American product standards (e.g., structural panels, structural composite lumber, glulam, CLT, wood I-joists)

  2. Standards Compliance – Ability to meet APA performance requirements and applicable North American product standards

  3. Manufacturing Presence – Principal place of business in North America with qualifying production within APA’s scope of certification operations

  4. Quality Commitment – Demonstrated focus on consistent manufacturing and product performance

  5. Facility Readiness – Operational mill capable of supporting APA inspection, testing, and certification processes
