Named New Director of Quality Services Division
Hovanec holds a master’s and bachelor’s degree in wood science and technology from West Virginia University. Most recently, he served as the certification director at PFS TECO, overseeing certification projects within the building products division.
Hovanec played a key role in developing and managing product-standard and building-code-compliance inspection programs, overseeing laboratory testing projects and manufacturer qualifications, and communicating with end users on the proper use of certified products. During his tenure with TECO, he also served as panel products manager and technical services specialist.
In his role at APA, Hovanec will direct APA certification programs and will support APA’s industry-leading third-party inspection and quality program. He will start his new position at APA on January 7.
