This webinar series will cover wall bracing provisions in the 2024 International Residential Code. Wall bracing serves to protect the structure from wind and seismic failures and is critical to a well designed and constructed house. This series will give participants a clear roadmap to design and verification of wall bracing in residential construction. In part one of this series, wall bracing is explained as a method of lateral load resistance. Due to the prescriptive nature of wall bracing, there are limitations that will be covered with their related code sections. Common errors breaking these limitations will be identified. Additionally, this session defines braced wall lines and participants will be able to identify appropriate braced wall line offsets
