Cross-Laminated Timber—North American CLT vs. Imported Product

Technical Guides

Cross-laminated timber (CLT) manufactured in North America must meet stringent product standards and be certified to the ANSI/APA PRG 320 Standard for Performance-Rated Cross-Laminated Timber. ANSI/APA PRG 320 is recognized in the International Building Code (IBC), International Residential Code (IRC), National Design Specification for wood Construction (NDS) and National Building Code of Canada (NBC). It is important to recognize that products manufactured outside of North America may not meet the performance expectations defined in the standard.
