Wall Bracing Calculator Version History

The following is a version history on new features and bug fixes for APA's Wall Bracing Calculator.

Version 2.3.0 (May 20, 2015)

  • Removed bracing default population for CSPF, PFG, PFH, on braced segment builds, to reduce user input requirements for remainder of walls. CSWSP, WSP and GB continue to populate as defaults.
  • Fixed wall opening prompt when CS-PF segment is entered, to allow selection of which side the opening is adjacent to the PF. This fixes a conflict when full height openings are selected also adjacent to the CS-PF.
  • Fixed conflict in enforcement rules when <= 100mph wind and or SDC Townhome C and D0-D2 are selected.
  • Fix to ensure that when the wall height is changed, appropriate re-calculations are conducted.
  • Fix to ensure that all popup inputs are presented to the user without being overruled by IRC validation rules for spacing and positioning.
  • Added popup selection for user to make wholesale changes to bracing segment types after a design has been started/completed, significantly reducing user input time.
  • Added language to Project Report/Printout to provide 1,000lb restraint on the post side of a single PFH adjacent to opening.
  • Ensured asterisk present in Bracing Status field, advising user that further instruction is noted on Project Report/Printout reports.
  • Added popup warning to user when more restrictive changes are made to a wall assembly, notifying that compliance values may have changed.
  • Fix to ensure header height entry value cannot exceed total wall height, i.e., PF methods.
  • Fix to ensure an asterisk (*) symbol remains in the wind or seismic compliance field until bracing compliance is met, and when other placement rules still need to be addressed.
  • Fix to evaluation process in mixed bracing method situations.
